The North Shore, also called the North Crown, is the name commonly given to the entire northern suburbs of the metropolitan area of Montreal, in Quebec.
Its territory extends along the north bank of the Mille Îles River and is made up of 20 municipalities spread between the Laurentides and Lanaudière regions.
Although the city of Laval is commonly, but erroneously, associated with the North Shore, it is not part of it due to its island status.
Municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants are listed in bold. The type of municipal status is divided as follows: city (V), municipality (M) or parish municipality (P).
The North Shore of Montreal has a population of approximately 555,700 inhabitants.
